The Nuns Monastery Anenja Vihara in the Theravada Forest tradition was founded in October 2006. It is devoted to providing a foundation for nuns to train based on the Dhamma Vinaya, so that a vital Bhikkhuni Sangha can follow the path of the Buddha.

  • Women wishing to ordain can carefully examine their intention and leave the householders life.
  • After two years of preparation the Bhikkhuni ordination can be taken. Following this, another two years of training are required.

Nuns of the Theravada Tradition are welcome to practice in Anenja Vihara as guests or permanently.

It is located in Rettenberg, Germany.
