268. It is impossible, monks, it cannot happen that an individual with right view could regard any formation as permanent. This is not possible. It is possible, monks, that an ordinary person could regard any formation as permanent. This is possible.
269. It is impossible, monks, it cannot happen that an individual with right view could regard any formation as blissful. This is not possible. It is possible, monks, that an ordinary person could regard any formation as blissful. This is possible.
270. It is impossible, monks, it cannot happen that an individual with right view could regard any formation as self. This is not possible. It is possible, monks, that an ordinary person could regard any formation as self. This is possible.
271. It is impossible, monks, it cannot happen that an individual with right view could deprive his or her mother of life. This is not possible. It is possible, monks, that an ordinary person could deprive his or her own mother of life. This is possible.
272. It is impossible, monks, it cannot happen that an individual with right view could deprive his or her father of life. This is not possible. It is possible, monks, that an ordinary person could his or her own father of life. This is possible.
273. It is impossible, monks, it cannot happen that an individual with right view could deprive an Arahant of life. This is not possible. It is possible, monks, that an ordinary person could deprive an Arahant of life. This is possible.
274. It is impossible, monks, it cannot happen that an individual with right view could injure a Tathāgata drawing blood. This is not possible. It is possible, monks, that an ordinary person could injure a Tathāgata drawing blood. This is possible.
275. It is impossible, monks, it cannot happen that an individual with right view could split the Sangha. This is not possible. It is possible, monks, that an ordinary person could split the Sangha. This is possible.
276. It is impossible, monks, it cannot happen that an individual with right view could point out another teacher. This is not possible. It is possible, monks, that an ordinary person could point out another teacher. This is possible.
277. It is impossible, monks, it cannot happen that two Worthy, Fully Enlightened Ones could arise in the world at the same time. This is not possible. It is possible, monks, that one Worthy, Fully Enlightened One could arise in the world. This is possible.

278. It is impossible, monks, it cannot happen that two Wheel-turning Monarchs could arise in the world at the same time. This is not possible. It is possible, monks, that one Wheel-turning Monarch could arise in the world. This is possible.
279. It is impossible, monks, it cannot happen that a woman could be a Worthy, Fully Enlightened One. This is not possible. It is possible, monks, that a man could be a Worthy, Fully Enlightened One. This is possible.
280. It is impossible, monks, it cannot happen that a woman could be a Wheel-turning Monarch. This is not possible. It is possible, monks, that a man could be a Wheel-turning Monarch. This is possible.
281-283. It is impossible, monks, it cannot happen that a woman could be Sakka … Māra … Brahma. This is not possible. It is possible, monks, that a man could be Sakka … Māra … Brahma. This is possible.
284. It is impossible, monks, it cannot happen that an unwholesome bodily action could give a result that was pleasant, agreeable, and enjoyable. This is not possible. It is possible, monks, that an unwholesome bodily action could give a result that was unpleasant, disagreeble, and unenjoyable. This is possible.
285-286. It is impossible, monks, it cannot happen that an unwholesome verbal … mental action could give a result that was pleasant, agreeable, and enjoyable. This is not possible. It is possible, monks, that an unwholesome verbal … mental action could give a result that was unpleasant, disagreeble, and unenjoyable. This is possible.
3. Tatiyavaggo Part Three
287. Bhikkhus, it is impossible that a person developing bodily good conduct should achieve unpleasant disagreeable results. It is possible that a person developing bodily good conduct should achieve pleasant agreeable results.
288. Bhikkhus, it is impossible that a person developing verbal good conduct should achieve unpleasant disagreeable results. It is possible that a person developing verbal good conduct should achieve pleasant agreeable results.
289. Bhikkhus, it is impossible that a person developing mental good conduct should achieve unpleasant disagreeable results. It is possible that a person developing mental good conduct should achieve pleasant agreeable results.
290. Bhikkhus, it is impossible that a person misconducting bodily, should on account of it, after death be born in increase, in a good state in heaven. It is possible that a person misconducting bodily, should on account of it, after death be born in decrease, in a bad state, in hell.
291. Bhikkhus, it is impossible that a person misconducting verbally, should on account of it, after death be born in increase, in a good state in heaven. It is possible that a person misconducting verbally, should on account of it, after death be born in decrease, in a bad state, in hell.
292. Bhikkhus, it is impossible that a person misconducting mentally, should on account of it, after death be born in increase, in a good state in heaven. It is possible that a person misconducting mentally, should on account of it be born in decrease, in a bad state, in hell.
293. Bhikkhus, it is impossible that a person developing bodily good conduct, should on account of it, after death be born in decrease, in a bad state in hell. It is possible that a person developing bodily good conduct, should on account of it, after death be born in increase, in a good state, in heaven.
294. Bhikkhus, it is impossible that a person developing verbal good conduct, should on account of it, after death be born in decrease, in a bad state in hell.
