Welcome to The Dhamma Encyclopedia

The official encyclopedia of The Dhamma website. A Buddhist encyclopedia anyone can edit. All traditions are welcome, but this encyclopedia primarily focuses on the foundation teachings of early Buddhism, i.e., Theravada. For Buddhist terms, please use Pali over Sanskrit or both. Sanskrit only is acceptable for Mahayana articles. Please see Help page for further editing instructions.

Dr. David N. Snyder established The Dhamma Encyclopedia.
