Seth Monk, formerly Brother Hue Chuyen (born April 7, 1983) is an American teacher and former Zen Buddhist monk currently residing in Boston, Massachusetts.

Seth Monk (Seth Krentcil) was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Jewish parents, photographer Stuart E. Krentcil and teacher/professional poker player Bonnie Krentcil. He is also brother to New York fashion columnist and editor Faran Krentcil. Seth spent his early life in historic Andover, Massachusetts, home of television personality Jay Leno and to the prestigious Phillips Academy Andover.

After finishing high school he went on University of Hartford, in Connecticut. While attending university he first came into contact Buddhism when a traveling monk gave a talk at the school. In 2005, after graduating with a BA in Fine Arts he traveled to Germany where a visit to a Vietnamese temple crystalized his wish to ordain. Remaining in Germany, he ordained as Brother Hue Chuyen, a Zen monk in the Lin Chi lineage of Vietnamese Buddhism. While there, he had the opportunity to meet and study under teachers from various traditions such as His Holiness XIV Dalai Lama, Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh, Ajahn Brahmavamso, and the Burmese Master Pa Auk Sayadaw. He was part of the founding Sangha at Kloster Buddhas Weg in Odenwald where he led weekly meditation groups, school visits, Peacewalks, and weekend retreats.

In 2014, Seth left the monastery for a 6-month journey through the sacred sites of India, eventually meeting His Holiness XVII Karmapa and spending time at his Sikkimese root monastery, Rumtek. While in Sikkim Seth undertook a personal retreat, living in a cave on the sacred mountain on Tashiding. Returning from this trip, Seth travelled to Bodhinyana Monastery in Australia and undertook the Rain's Retreat under the guidance of Venerable Ajahn Brahmavamso. Afterwards, returning to Boston, Seth led a few workshops at MIT University for undergraduate students on dealing with stress. He also taught a few classes at Andover High School.

Returning to India in on January 1, 2015, Seth realized his time as Buddhist monk had ended, and he disrobed. Spending the next 8 months traveling from southern India to north, he eventually ended up in Dharamsala, where he again resumed teaching meditation to interested travelers. It was also at this time that he learned a form of healing called Siddha Kundalini, from a lineage holder who was also in the mountains at that time.

Returning to America in the fall of 2015, Seth founded Returning Peace, an initiative to bring meditation and mindfulness into Massachusetts school systems in a structured way. He also began giving Siddha Healings to large groups in studios around the Boston area. As of 2017, Seth teaches meditation to students in various middle and high schools, faculty and students at MIT, and holds professional development workshops and retreats for Massachusetts educators.
