Seychelles has a small percentage of Buddhists, due almost entirely from immigration from China. Known as Sino-Seychellois, are Chinese who reside in Seychelles. As of 1999, their population was estimated at roughly 1,000 individuals, making them one of Africa's smaller Chinese communities.
